Apple announces Jan. 19 event at Guggenheim in NYC

Apple announced today a special media even at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City on January 19th. THe invitations hint at the event being education related and rumors are swirling that Apple has been wanting to do new things with iTunes U and bringing textbooks to iBooks for iPad and iPhone.

While we can only speculate until Apple makes things official, I would love to see a easy and cheap way of getting textbooks than the current hassle that is the textbook business now. Also, I love iTunes U but it would be nice to see it become more organized, easier to find things, and digest. That and the fact that so many iTunes users don’t even know it exists.
