February: Something new something old.

The new and improved Apple Corps for Dallas.

Chelanie Israel aka Miss Mac appeared in person and held the interest of our members well beyond her presentation time. Many stayed and had great discussions with Chelanie in our “Meet the speaker breakout.”

It was great to see Tim Baker join us after his excellent emulation presentation in January. He stayed for the after speaker breakouts and met with a group of interested members. Old Mac has new life in his group.

It was exciting to the interaction of our members sharing and caring. New ideas, new Apple innovations, new members and existing members.

Can the iPad replace your desktop or portable Mac?

I enjoyed presenting with John Jones. Together we answered as many questions as we could about making the iPad your central computer.

Below are some of the questions and answers.

How to use your iPad as your main computer?
1. Word processing works with a keyboard & case.
2. Paint on iPad with ProCreate the & Art Rage. iPad pens are great and responsive.
3. Audio Garageband is much more user-friendly on iPads.
4. Portable & convenient.
5. Has a built-in camera.
6. You can use a larger monitor attached to your iPad. Apple TV or hard wired with adapter and power.
7. GPS & Phone
8. iCloud becomes your larger storage.

Why should you keep your desktop or portable?
1. To have backup and large storage
2. Some programs only run on a desktop.
3. To write code
4. Photoshop & Adobe Cloud

Jonesy demonstrated the new iPad.
One of the key advantages is the magnetically attached pen that charges when not in use.
